bear hands - what a drag
saw this band over the summer, and truly enjoyed them. so i thought i would share! enjoy.

Secret Colours - Jellybean
Here’s another great find from my emails last week. Chicago’s Secret Colours has satisfied my recent hunger for some warm, psychedelic jams to compliment the sunny days I’ve been seeing. Think Black Angels and Dead Meadow as good starting points for explaining their polished sound. The debut album is so powerful that you might have to take each song one by one. Of course you’ll have to wait until August 3rd to do so anyway. In the mean time, here’s a tasty morsel called “Jellybean” to get you started.
Yuck - Automatic
I love when footage matches the song so, so well.
Tame Impala - Make Up Your Mind (Filmed at Camp Nowhere)
You know you’re taught not to be jealous of others, but I’m really have a existential crisis with not being extermely jealous of Peter aka earsofthebeholder.
Today I’m proud to present the result of my first stab at producing a video shoot. I teamed up with my buddies at Yours Truly to launch an intimate new video series called Camp Nowhere where we invite our favorite bands to come rock out in the Redwoods just outside of Santa Cruz, California. I’m extremely excited that our first guest was one of my current favorite bands, Australia’s Tame Impala.
Unouomedude - Island Summer
Dis Uno, he lives in Jacksonville, Florida. Uno makes chill jams. He also haz a tumblr. I also highly suggest you give Buildings a listen.
iron & wine - the sea and the rhythm
quite possibly the most beautiful thing i have ever heard. period.
“our hands they seek the end of afternoon, my hands believe and move over you. your hands they move like waves over me beneath the moon, tonight, we’re the sea.”
Rad song, rad video.
this song is giving me a good summer vibe. interesting video as well.
Hooray for Earth - Surrounded By Your Friends
PUPPETS!! Oh and really great song.
Neon Canyon - Libra

Lower Dens - Hospice Gates
Baltimore band. I wish I had clever things to say other than give it a listen I think you’ll like it.
Teenage Reverb - Under The Weather
Take one teaspoon funk, a cup of glo-fi, two tablespoons crunchy distortion, one sugary hook, mix slowly for 3 minutes on the dance floor.

egyptian hip hop - rad pitt
this track is my new jam. everyone needs to listen to this. seriously. do it.
Wye Oak - I Hope You Die
I don’t hope you die but I really like this song. Death is so not chill.
I’m super pumped for tonight too, seeing Ami Dang, Lands & Peoples (pumped to see these guys) and Wye Oak. I also found out this is Wye Oak’s ep-release party tonight. Should be a good time in Baltimore tonight. Going? Let me know, say hi.
Prepare to Meet Thy Broom - Break YoSelf Foo!
Speaking of my growing guilty pleasure with the new wave of 8-bit techno bubbling up ‘round the netz, WFMU’s Free Music Archive blog pointed out this EP ”1989” by young brothers Timmy (18) and Kevin (14) from Juarez, Mexico. See, I’ve been to Juarez before - and given the state of that place (ie: semi-war zone) - its pretty radical to see creativity like this alive and well. I love how these guys reference - but don’t over-use - video game theme music. Pick up the three bangin’ jams free here.
